Exhibition Draft Film

Tutorial notes:

It can be pushed further. Are the juxtapositions are too close together? (Ice and 'cracking' spoken word) I need to think about the duration - extend and create more happening with images and sound. Am I working intuitively or do I build system to play with? How do I know which image sits with which image? The wax object rotating seems like a central object. The sounds really help to carry it. Work out a pace for the piece. Is it more of a feeling or is it more about information - spoken word is more information. I like the abstraction of it. Look into Camille Henrot - Grosse Fatigue - she collages digital images of and goes to spaces. Similar to my work in terms of the

editing has moving screens. Think about what place and space, do you return to it or do people only see things once? I wonder if the human voice is the right voice? it brings it too much into reality. The sound is so dislocating that with the images and the wax its too close, maybe use text or maybe experiment with the way the sound is delivered - Ableton for effects. Laure prouvost uses whispering which is a fun way of changing the image. Is the panning shot too soon? Do I need to build to that? what setting will it be shown in? projection on a wall, or projected onto the wax - that could be quite revealing. Multi screen/projection? If working in a gallery space use binaural headphones and projection. For online exhibition have statements about ways for the viewer to watch it, i.e with headphones on, turned up?

Think about writing in the evaluation about how if it were in a space, would it be shown?

More Artists to research: Uriel olar, Charlotte Prodger and Ben rivers.

Maybe make a 1 minute version but make what works for the work
